CBP Detains Group of Men During Friday Morning Operation in Watertown

WATERTOWN, NY – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents detained several men during a coordinated operation in Watertown early Friday morning.

The detentions took place at two separate locations — Adirondack Efficiencies on Arsenal Street and a residential area on South Hycliff Drive, near Coffeen Street. CBP was supported on the scene by both the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Watertown Police Department.

Following the operation, at least some of the individuals were seen being transported in a sheriff’s van to the CBP facility on Wellesley Island.

As of now, CBP has not released any official statement regarding the identities of the individuals or the reasons for their detention. The nature of the operation remains unclear.
