Johnny Smoke is the Watertown Post’s cannabis-review pen name. This column is based on the reviewer’s firsthand observations.
I had about given up on finding the kind of flower I remembered in a retail store. Too much of what I came across reminded me of Styrofoam. At a certain point, I was starting to wonder whether I was shopping for cannabis or packing a television.
Then I came across Grape Gas from Electroleaf New York at Cannabis Depot in Stateway Plaza.
I may have met my match.
Sticky, smelly, and decidedly not packing material
My impression: old-school sticky and smelly. This is the kind of flower with an aroma that can make its presence known around an office or a home. Subtle? Let’s just say it does not enter a room wearing a disguise.
It has been a long time since I came across something like this. After that run of flower that seemed more like Styrofoam to me, this stood out.
The product I reviewed was a hybrid, labeled 21.64% THC, at $44 for an eighth—3.5 grams. Those are the details of this purchase, rather than a promise about every batch or a future price.
A word about the parking lot
Stateway Plaza itself comes with a caution: watch the potholes. On my visit, some were bad enough that I worried about vehicle damage. The flower was the pleasant surprise; the pavement was not.
For me, this particular find was worth the trip. Just give those potholes some room. Johnny came to review the flower, not the suspension repair bill.
Positive Reviews is where we share experiences we enjoyed. If an experience does not earn a positive review, we do not publish a review. This is a personal opinion, not medical advice.
