Amtrak Service from Syracuse Regional Transportation Center

Syracuse is served by Amtrak’s Empire Service, Maple Leaf and Lake Shore Limited. These trains provide direct service east to Albany and New York City, west to Rochester, Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Toronto and Chicago, and daily direct service to Boston aboard the Lake Shore Limited.

The Lake Shore Limited operates as one train from Syracuse before dividing at Albany-Rensselaer. One section continues south to New York City while the other travels east through Pittsfield, Springfield, Worcester, Back Bay and Boston South Station. Passengers traveling from Syracuse to Boston can therefore remain aboard the Boston section without changing trains.

Westbound Lake Shore Limited service continues beyond Buffalo through Erie, Cleveland, Sandusky, Toledo, South Bend and other communities before reaching Chicago. Connections from Chicago provide access to Amtrak routes serving the Midwest, Great Plains, Rocky Mountains and West Coast.
