T-Mobile is actually a great company. The trick is knowing where to do business with them.
My advice: skip the third-party T-Mobile store in the mall and go straight to the T-Mobile people inside Sam’s Club.
Here’s why. Sam’s Club currently has T-Mobile offers that can include a $150 Sam’s Club eGift Card with a qualifying phone purchase and service plan, plus a $200 virtual prepaid Mastercard for eligible new customers switching from another carrier. Depending on the deal and your eligibility, that can mean hundreds of dollars coming back to you simply because you activated through Sam’s Club instead of walking into another retail location.
There are also additional Sam’s Club perks tied to certain qualifying purchases and Plus memberships. The exact promotions change, and naturally there’s enough fine print to wallpaper a small bathroom, but the point is simple: check Sam’s Club before you activate or upgrade.
You could walk in expecting to spend money on a new phone and service and eventually walk away with hundreds of dollars in gift cards and rebates coming back your way.
T-Mobile? Great.
T-Mobile through Sam’s Club? That’s where you need to start doing the math…
