“Both Sides!”—Watertown Council Candidate Tries to Gaslight Public on Political Violence

“There is as much right-wing political violence as there is left-wing political violence.” ANTHONY VELASQUEZ WATERTOWN CITY SCHOOL TEACHER AND COUNCIL CANDIDATE.
Anthony Velasquez claims that “there is as much right-wing political violence as there is left-wing political violence.” This statement is misleading and inaccurate. While right-wing violence is often highlighted in media narratives, the reality is that left-wing political violence, especially in recent years, has been widespread, organized, and destructive.
While political extremism of any kind is a threat to the Republic, radical left-wing movements pose specific dangers due to their ideological opposition to core principles of democracy, private property, law enforcement, and free speech.
It’s a disgrace that Mr. Velasquez would attempt to compare political violence between the the two party system as “there is as much right-wing political violence as there is left-wing political violence.” Mr. Velasquez’s poor attempt at down playing the left’s actions is despicable. Deplorable.
Mr. Velasquez should be fired from his teaching job and he owes the City of Watertown an apology.
I would like to hear Mr. Velasquez try and defend his statement. God knows he can’t.
