Sweet Success in Watertown: Why I’m Headed Straight to Three Sisters Candy Jar This Weekend
There’s something special about seeing a new small business open its doors in downtown Watertown. While giant corporations keep turning everything into the same copy-and-paste experience, places like Three Sisters Candy Jar remind people what local flavor actually feels like.
The new candy shop is holding its grand opening from May 12th through May 17th, and honestly, this sounds like the kind of place northern New York needs more of. Handmade sweets, popcorn, old-school candy shop vibes — the kind of spot that smells like sugar the second you walk through the door.
Lucky for me, I’ll be back in town this weekend, and I already know I’m stopping in for some popcorn. And if they happen to have old-school pralines? Even better. If not, I’m officially launching a peaceful citizen campaign to get pralines added to the menu. Some traditions are worth protecting.
Seriously though, support local businesses when you can. Every new storefront that opens in Watertown is somebody taking a chance on the city, investing money, working crazy hours, and trying to build something for the community. That deserves support.
Best of luck to Three Sisters Candy Jar during their grand opening week. Hope the place is packed.
