TOWN OF PAMELIA, NY – Watertown Post
Big news for all you package trackers and prime shoppers out there: Amazon is officially planting its flag just outside of Watertown, bringing its warehouse magic—and a fresh hundred jobs—with it.
Jefferson County officials have confirmed that Amazon.com Services LLC shelled out about $1.4 million to snag 13 acres at Route 12 and Lucas Drive in Pamelia. (Yes, you read that right—Amazon can now officially say it owns part of Pamelia. No word yet on whether Alexa will be running for town supervisor.)
Earlier this year, the talk of the town was about a mystery company planning a sprawling 77,000-square-foot facility on outer Bradley Street. Surprise! It was the world’s favorite cardboard box delivery service all along.
Once it’s up and running, expect to see fleets of Amazon vans rolling in and out, and maybe even a few Watertown folks clocking in to keep the Golden Age of Two-Day Shipping alive and well. Local officials are cheering the promise of new jobs, fresh investment, and the type of economic excitement you usually only see when someone finds out the Chick-fil-A drive-thru is open on a Sunday (okay, almost).
