Real leadership doesn’t follow—it leads.

The Russian collusion lie is finally, officially dead. The truth is out. The so‑called scandal that hijacked a presidency and poisoned this country’s politics for years was exactly what many of us said it was from day one—a hoax, a manufactured smear job cooked up for political gain.
For those of us who refused to drink the Kool-Aid, this is no surprise. We didn’t need some late-breaking investigation to tell us what was obvious all along. But here in Watertown, the reaction—or lack of one—says a lot about who we are, and worse, who’s running this city.
Our “Leaders” Don’t Lead—They Obey
Let’s not kid ourselves. Watertown’s so-called leadership isn’t just soft—they’re completely owned by the Democratic narrative. The DNC says jump, and the entire City Council asks, “How high?”
And then there’s our Mayor. Let’s be honest—she’s no conservative. She’s a RINO through and through, the type that plays nice with Democrats and doesn’t play well with true MAGA-supporting Republicans. She’ll smile, talk “moderation,” and then nod right along with the same tired, failed policies handed down by party elites.
They didn’t need to be actively involved in pushing the collusion hoax to be guilty. They believed it. They swallowed it whole. And worse—they applied that same weak, follower mindset to running this city. That’s not leadership. That’s being a puppet.
The Hoax Was Never Just About Trump
The Russian collusion hoax wasn’t about Moscow—it was about control. It was about silencing dissent, intimidating the public, and keeping citizens too afraid to challenge the narrative. And Watertown mirrored that mentality perfectly.
Not one strong voice at City Hall dared to challenge what they were told to believe. Nobody stood up, nobody asked questions. That same attitude infects local decision-making now, and it’s exactly why this city feels like it’s stuck in neutral.
Our Local Media? Bought and Paid For
Don’t expect the usual suspects in local media to admit any of this. They won’t. They were cheerleaders for the hoax from the beginning and they’re still pushing the same political garbage now. Independent reporting scares them—and that’s why The Watertown Post is here, saying what they won’t.
Wake Up, Watertown
This is bigger than Trump. It’s about what kind of city we want to be. Do we want leaders who take their cues from Washington insiders, or leaders who actually work for you?
The Mayor doesn’t stand with real conservatives. The Council doesn’t ask tough questions. And until we elect people who do, Watertown will keep getting pushed around by national party politics.
The Bottom Line
The hoax is over. We were right. They were wrong. And the fact that our so-called leaders would have believed anything shoved down their throat by the DNC should make every Watertown taxpayer furious.
Watertown deserves lions, not sheep. And right now, City Hall is full of sheep.
