And right here in Northern New York, we know exactly what that means: the Watertown Post stands as proof that independent voices thrive when the old guard collapses.

For perspective: individual YouTubers, podcasters, and yes, even independent regional outlets like ours in Watertown are outperforming CNN’s prime-time lineup.
The “most trusted name in news” now ranks lower than some local news stations in towns half the size of Watertown. That’s not just embarrassing — that’s terminal.
